Join us for planting in Jacqueline Court pocket park

On Sunday May 26th we will be planting at the Jacqueline Court pocket park and we would love you to join us! The planting is part of an ongoing collaboration between SBEA and the Borough of Queenscliffe to increase the habitat for a range of wildlife and also create a more enjoyable green space for neighbouring residents. Swan Bay Nature Art Series

NATURE + ART = JOY! SBEA is delighted to present the Swan Bay Nature Art Series, a creative collaboration with some of our inspiring local artists. Drawing on the theme, Immerse-Connect-Create, this series of workshops is designed for those who would enjoy a deep dive into elements of our local ecosystems. Each event begins by collecting inspiration in the field then moving to an indoor location for the creative component….

Swan Bay Nature Art Series Workshop #2

Swan Bay Environment Association has begun an exciting program of Nature Art workshops, each with a focus on a different aspect of our environment. This second workshop Weedy Wonderings will focus on invasive weeds and explore them through weaving and dyeing, led by multi-media artist Michaela McHugh.

Geelong Nature Festival

The Geelong Nature Festival 2023 ‘Our Backyard’ is an exciting, multi-dimensional event, showcasing Geelong’s natural wonders through September and October with nature-based activities, workshops, guest speakers, presentations and displays. Hannah Moloney will be launching the festival on Friday 15th September and following up with a gardening demonstration at the Geelong Botanic Gardens the next morning. Pocket Park Planting Project

Thank you to the many volunteers who turned up to complete the planting of Downton Crescent Pocket Park on Sunday September 10. The planting from 2022 is looking great and has greatly increased the biodiversity of the park. This project contributes significantly to the Environmental Regeneration Pillar of the Council Climate Emergency Response Plan.
